Habrá Clásico en la final de la Copa del Rey. El 14º desde que la organiza la ACB. Igualmente en la Minicopa. Los más pequeños apuntalan las tradiciones de sus mayores. Hubo un tiempo, cada vez más retirado, en el que las mejores canteras eran siempre de otros. Y los dos grandes hacían ahí sus compras. Ya, no.
En las semifinales sabatinas, el Real Madrid cumplió primero con su parte al doblegar con mucha suficiencia al Valencia, que cero tuvo que ver con aquel equipo que el año pasado puso contra las cuerdas en cuartos al mismo rival, y cayó ajado, 95-76, tras un tercer parcial nefasto. El Madrid avanzó con Facundo Campazzo otra vez al timón. Curiosamente, la última vez que los blancos conquistaron la Copa fue en 2020, todavía en Málaga y con Campazzo como MVP. Por si cualquiera cree en presagios o en teorías del perdurable retorno. Aunque si tiramos todavía de referencias, las últimas cuatro finales entre Madrid y Barça tuvieron color azulgrana.
El Madrid, como decíamos, superó su choque con solvencia. Y se sentó a esperar rival: o aceptablemente el botellín Clásico de la temporada, con un 3-1 a beneficio de los de Chus Mateo; o aceptablemente una final inédita frente al subcampeón de la última estampación, el Tenerife. La respuesta fue el Barcelona. Y no hizo descuido aguardar mucho para saberlo, porque los de Roger Grimau no quisieron ser menos que su oponente de este domingo y resolvieron su cruce con longevo autoridad todavía. Al refrigerio, el resultado era abrumador: 54-24. Que ascendió a un 108-76 a su conclusión. Las buenas maneras de los dos contendientes dejan un pronóstico totalmente franco, en contra de la encuesta previa de la ACB con 20 técnicos, que dieron cero posibilidades de título al Barça, por un 75% para el Madrid. Supongo que ahora tendrán más dudas en sus pronósticos. Un Clásico siempre es un Clásico. Y la Copa es la Copa para todos.
