De acuerdo con la Sader, en el País, el 70 por ciento de la agricultura es de temporal, es proponer, que depende de lluvias.
Para la Secretaría de Agricultura y Progreso Rural (Sader), incluso en un proscenio de estrés hídrico en el País, la proposición de granos no debería caer más de 20 por ciento respecto al año pasado.
En conferencia de prensa, el titular de la dependencia Víctor Villalobos aseguró que las afectaciones de la sequía sobre la producción de maíz y otros granos básicos fue principalmente en el ciclo primavera-verano, pero que para otoño-invierno se repuso, con lo que las afectaciones no serán tan graves en este ámbito.
“Yo diría que el año pasado sí impactó la producción de granos, lo cual fue compensado con un buen ciclo agrícola de otoño-invierno 2022-2023, esto nos permitió almacén más de un millón de toneladas de maíz. Lo que se ha señalado en términos de la yerro de maíz, en ingenuidad tenemos una reserva”, aseveró.
En 2023, la importación de granos básicos en México, tales como el maíz, trigo y frijol, representó 48 por ciento del consumo total, según Rama Consejero de Mercados Agrícolas (GCMA).
En el caso específico del maíz, la producción doméstico cayó 0.8 por ciento en 2023 contra el año inicial, sin secuestro, las importaciones registraron un récord de 19.7 millón de toneladas, según GCMA.
De acuerdo con la Sader, en el País, el 70 por ciento de la agricultura es de temporal, es proponer, que depende de lluvias, en tanto que el año pasado se registró una de las crisis más severas en 50 abriles.
Si adecuadamente, Villalobos reconoció que la yerro de lluvias ha incidido hasta en pequeños productores de autoconsumo, programas como Sembrando Vida, la entrega de fertilizantes, el fortalecimiento del sur del País y el cañoneo de nubes ha contribuido a estrechar los impactos.
