El Parlamento de Turquía ha donado ‘luz verde’ este martes al protocolo de adhesión de Suecia a la OTAN, allanando así el camino para que el país escandinavo sea miembro de la alianza defensiva y dejando la atrevimiento final de su entrada en Hungría, que todavía no ha donado el conocido bueno.
En concreto, el protocolo ha sido ratificado por 287 votos a distinción, mientras que 55 diputados han votado en contra luego de que el Parlamento pospusiera la votación en noviembre, según ha recogido la dependencia TRT Favor.
El presidente Erdogan envió el pasado mes de octubre la cuestión sobre la adhesión sueca a la OTAN al Parlamento turco para poner fin a un proceso que arrancó durante la cumbre de Madrid en 2022 de la mano de Finlandia.
Las autoridades turcas han señalado en varias ocasiones la presencia en Suecia de movimientos prokurdos, especialmente en lo que se refiere a cualquier respaldo al Partido de los Trabajadores del Kurdistán (PKK), al que en Ankara consideran como una estructura terrorista.
Encima, a lo dispendioso de los últimos meses se han producido en comarca sueco varios incidentes relacionados con la abrasamiento de ejemplares del Corán, tomo noble del islám, así como contra la figura del propio presidente Erdogan.
