La 18ª estampación de la Strade Bianche, prueba de un día del calendario UCI World Tour, se disputa el sábado 2 de marzo sobre un represión estricto de 215 kilómetros con salida y aparición en la ciudad italiana de Siena que incluye 71,5 kilómetros de `sterrato´ repartidos en 15 tramos.
La Strade Bianche es una de las carreras ciclistas más jóvenes pero ya icónicas del calendario profesional, disputándose en la región de la Toscana, en Italia. Aunque su primera estampación se remonta a 2007, rápidamente se ha vacada el corazón de ciclistas y aficionados por su singular represión, que combina carreteras asfaltadas con sectores de caminos de tierra blanca, conocidos como `strade bianche´, que dan nombre a la prueba. Estos tramos sin pavimentar, que atraviesan paisajes espectaculares de colinas y viñedos, exigen una tiento técnica infrecuente y convierten a la carrera en un desafío único.
La aparición en la impresionante Piazza del Campo en Siena es emblemática y ofrece un final dramático a una etapa de ciclismo puro. A pesar de su corta historia, la Strade Bianche se ha establecido como una clásica moderna, atrayendo a los mejores especialistas en carreras de un día y formando parte del prestigioso UCI WorldTour. Su mezcla de belleza, dureza y organización la convierte en una cita imperdible en el calendario ciclista.
Reconvención completo de la Strade Bianche 2024
Con salida y aparición en la ciduad de Siena, la Strade Bianche de 2024 contará, como decimos, con 15 tramos de tierra, y los 6 primeros serán largos, pero más practicables; la primera selección llegará con San Martino in Grania (Km 112) y Monte Sante Marie / Fabian Cancellara (Km 131); y la parte decisiva se encarará a partir del kilómetro 160, a 55 del final, con ese doble onda.
Las duras subidas a Colle Pinzuto y Le Tolfe, -último ‘sterrato’, a 12 de la conclusión, y las novedades de Strada del Castagno (Km 175) y Montechiaro, ésta en declive, añaden aún más exigencia a una de las carreras más peculiares de todo el calendario. Al final, el repecho de Via Santa Caterina y la entrada en la Piazza del Campo de Siena.
