La belga Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx) afronta como favorita la 10ª tiraje de la Strade Bianche Femenina que se disputa este domingo con un reconvención de 137 kilómetros en los alrededores de la ciudad italiana de Siena.
Kopecky, campeona del Mundo, fresco vencedora del Tour UAE y segunda en la Omloop, tratará de reimprimir en la prueba de las pistas blancas de tierra el triunfo que ya cosechó en 2022.
Para ello deberá medirse a rivales de mucha entidad, como su compañera neerlandesa Demi Vollering, que defenderé el título apurado en 2023 en Siena. Una corredora que la temporada pasada arrasó en las clásicas con oro en Lieja, Amstel Gold y Flecha Valona entre otras.
Además entra claramente en la quiniela la neerlandea Marianne Vos (Visma Lease a Bike), quien ha terminado entre las 10 primeras en los últimos 4 primaveras, pero nunca subió al podio en Siena. La triple campeona mundial acaba de percibir la Omloop y llega en forma. Otras dos ex ganadoras estarán en la salida: Lizzie Deignan y Elisa Longo Borghini . Adicionalmente, Katarzyna Niewiadoma y Ashleigh Moolman además son fijas fijas en el top 10 de la Strade Bianche Femenina.
Patiño y Sara García en el Movistar Team
La formación del equipo afeminado del Movistar para la Strade Bianche será la compuesta por Olivia Baril, Floortje Mackaij, Paula Patiño, Jelena Eric, Mareille Meijering y Sara Martín.
Habrá más representación española con el Sindical Kutxa-Fundación Euskadi, donde correrán Ane Santisteban y Lourdes Oyarbide, y en el Liv Alula Jayco la 5 veces campeona de España Mavi García.
Con un reconvención de 137 km, la Strade Bianche modifica en 2024 su esencia con dos cambios, habrá menos asfalto entre tramos de ‘sterrato’ y un circuito final que eleva la guarismo de sectores de tierra a 12, en zona de los ocho del año aludido.
